Since 1874, Charleston Animal Society's mission has remained the same: to prevent cruelty to animals. Not only is the Animal Society celebrating 12 years of building the first No Kill community in the Southeast, but built South Carolina as the first No Kill state across the Southern U.S. and America's heartland. Charleston Animal Society is recognized as the first animal organization in South Carolina, and as national and international model for lifesaving success, efficiency, standards, and transparency.
